Statesboro Herald staff photographer Scott Bryant has won many awards for his photography over the years — including 16 this year for work published in 2011.
    From the Georgia Associated Press Awards contest in May, in the Herald's division, Bryant earned eight photo awards, including three first place honors — one photo was named Photo of the Year.
    In the Herald's category, Bryant also won eight awards including two first places July 7 at the Georgia Press Association’s annual awards banquet in Destin, Fla.
    At the banquet, Bryant also earned second place in the following categories: Photo Essay, Best Photo Gallery on a Newspaper Web site and Spot News Photo. He won third place in the following: Sports Feature Photo, Feature Photo and Best Photo Gallery on a Newspaper Web site.
