People provide service to their communities in various ways. For Julie Franklin, much of her volunteer work is one-on-one. Perhaps it is trying to find shelter for a homeless person, or seeing a child that needs foster care. For many years Julie provided foster care for "Ronnie" and her love and caring for Ronnie recently moved to the adoption stage. Julie's belief in the fostering concept helps her work closely with Chris Yaughn, another of tonight's honorees, on the Fostering Families Bulloch organization. Julie has been an energetic supporter of Statesboro First Methodist Church's soup kitchen, now serving a hot meal every week to an average of 250 persons. Julie Franklin is a selfless person who does not seek the limelight, but she's one who genuinely cares for others.
