Mrs. Brenda Hendrix of Statesboro announces the engagement of her daughter, Shelly Maline Hendrix of Statesboro, to Jason Douglas Wamba of Gatesville, Texas, son of Mrs. Anne Wamba.
The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late Bernard Tommie Hendrix. She is the granddaughter of Ruby Hendrix and the late Ermon Hendrix and the late Bernard and Loree Roundtree Hendrix. Shelly is a 1993 graduate of Statesboro High School and is a graduate of Excelsior College, where she earned an Associate’s degree in Nursing. She is employed with THA Islands Home Care as an RN case manager.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Armonda and Cora Wamba of Staten Island, N.Y., and Betty Shults and the late Doug Shults of Gatesville, Texas. A 1998 graduate of Sisco High, Jason is currently a sergeant serving in the 92nd Eng. Btn. of the U.S. Army. He has served two tours in Iraq.
The couple has planned to wed on September 20 at 7 p.m. at Meldrim Woods Plantation located at 10873 Mud Road in Brooklet.
