Mr. and Mrs. Terry and Sheryl Jones of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth of Statesboro, to Dr. Christopher Ryan Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Wendi Cooper and Mr. Steven Thompson, all of Macon.
The wedding is planned for October 4, 2008, at 6 p.m. at Pittman Park United Methodist Church in Statesboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Wilbur W. Jones and the late Mrs. Leecie Jones and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dees, all of Tifton, Ga. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Mrs. Ida Troupe of Tifton. Katie is a 2003 honor graduate of Statesboro High School. She attended Mercer University and is a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Mable Foster and the late Mr. Don Foster of Roberta, Ga., Mrs. Reba Cooper and the late Mr. Robert Cooper of Athens, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thompson of Macon. He is the great-grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Willis of Roberta. Ryan is a 2001 graduate of Tattnall Square Academy and a 2008 graduate of The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. He is employed as a pharmacist with Rite Aid in Greenville, S.C.
After the wedding, the couple will reside in Greenville, S.C.
