    Mr. and Mrs. Joey Mines of LaGrange, Ga., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Meredith Leigh, to Willis Russell Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel F. Jones of Statesboro.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Robert C. Hite of Leesville, S.C., the late Lester Tyler Hite Jr. of Leesville, S.C., the late Earl Joseph Mines Sr. of Hartsville, S.C., and the late Mildred W. Mines of Hartsville, S.C. She is a 2001 graduate of Troup High School. In 2005, she graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Miss Mines will receive a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Troy University in May. She is currently employed as a kindergarten teacher at Long Cane Elementary School in LaGrange and as a cheerleading coach at Troup High School.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David S. Hautman of Albany and Mr. and Mrs. Willis R. Jones of Statesboro. Mr. Jones is a 2000 honor graduate of Statesboro High School. In 2005, he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Administration in Risk Management and Insurance. Mr. Jones was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He currently works as an independent adjuster under his business, Southern Property Claims, Inc., in Statesboro.
    Meredith and Russell will marry Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Fountainview Mansion in Auburn, Ala.
