Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Rogers of Statesboro, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Lindsey Rogers of Athens, Ga., to Michael Lamar Nelms, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark and Tami Floyd of Lexington, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gwendoline Rogers and the late T. Martin Rogers and Mr. Louis Anderson and the late Mary C. Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kennedy. She is a 2002 honor graduate of Statesboro High School and is a 2008 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Economics. Kelly is employed at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Athens.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Audrey Nelms and the late Ted Lamar Nelms and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert and Gaynell Floyd. He is a 2002 honor graduate of Prince Avenue Christian School in Athens, Ga., and is a 2004 Presidential Scholar and graduate of Athens Technical College. Lamar is employed at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Ga.
The couple plans to wed on September 26, 2009, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Statesboro.
