Dr. and Mrs. Trey Denton of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Esta Bernice, to Mr. Aalap Shah, son of Dr. and Mrs. Gopal Shah of Slate Hill, N.Y.
    The bride-elect is a graduate of Bulloch Academy and Emory University and a candidate for a Ph.D. in marketing/consumer behavior from Northwestern University.
    The groom-elect is a graduate of Emory University and will graduate from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in May with an M.D. He will begin an emergency medicine residency this summer.
    The couple will be wed at the Performing Arts Center in Statesboro on May 3, 2014, and plans to honeymoon in Bali. There will be a second reception in Slate Hill on May 31st.
