Allison Leigh Glisson became the bride of Adam Rosser Moore during an outdoor ceremony at Shannon Vineyards in Sylvania, Georgia, on the evening of April 16, 2011. Pastor Scott Moore of Statesboro officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David W. (Lisa) Glisson of Statesboro and the granddaughter of Mr. John C. Johnson of Plainfield, Georgia.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael E. (Dixie) Moore of Tampa, Florida, and the grandson of Mrs. Charlotte Dial of Morrow, Ga.
A candle burned in memory of the bride's late grandparents, Mrs. Jane Parkerson Johnson, Mrs. Henrietta Aldrich Glisson, Mr. James Louie Glisson Sr. and the groom's late grandparents, Mr. Malon Dial, Mrs. Anna Moore and Mr. Merrill Moore.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride's diamond white wedding gown featured a modified sweetheart neckline, side gather pleated bodice with scattered pearl and glass beadwork, a corseted back with a chapel-length train. Her diamond white two-tier fingertip-length veil was trimmed with glass beading along the edge to compliment her gown. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and white roses tied with white satin ribbon. Her "something borrowed" was a pearl and rhinestone necklace borrowed from her friend, Jaclyn Cason.
Serving as matron of honor was friend of the bride, Christie Long of Statesboro. Bridesmaids were Amanda Collins and Bailey Reeves of Statesboro and Carrie Royal of Sylvania.
The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore firecracker cocktail-length dresses in various styles and carried bouquets of Gerbera daisies.
Serving as honorary bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Jaclyn Cason, Dana Johnson and Yvonne Lane, all of Statesboro.
The honorary bridesmaids wore black cocktail-length dresses and carried nosegays of Gerbera daisies.
Anniston Glisson, niece of the bride, also from Statesboro, served as flower girl. Anniston wore a white sleeveless ballerina-length dress and carried a white satin basket. She scattered rose petals and Gerbera daisy petals along the aisle for the bride.
The groom's best man was Brandon Palmer of Statesboro. Groomsmen were friends of the groom, Daniel Long and Chris Felker, both of Statesboro; Donald Wheeler of Vidalia and Robert Lastinger of Savannah. Serving as ring bearer was cousin of the bride, Cale Johnson of Plainfield, Georgia. Ushers were Chandler Moore and Bailey Moore, nephews of the groom, of Mechanicville, New York, and Cole Glisson of Statesboro, nephew of the bride.
Music was provided before and during the ceremony by guitarists Jeff Glisson of Brooklet, uncle of the bride; and Ken Durden of Statesboro.
Reception
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a dinner reception, also at Shannon Vineyards. The tables were decorated with Gerbera daisies and floating candles in glass vases decorated with ribbon and greenery.
The guests enjoyed wine tasting followed by a buffet dinner and wedding cake.
The bride's cake was a four-tier classic yellow cake with white icing decorated with Gerbera daisies and greenery. The groom's cake was a two-tier chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate icing decorated with frosted grapes, greenery and the groom's M initial as the cake topper.
Following dinner, the guests enjoyed live music and dancing. The guests lined each side of the walkway with sparklers as the couple departed.
Allison and Adam Moore are making their home in Statesboro.
