Allison Meredith Hill Benjamin Lofton Johnston

Mr. and Mrs. Walker Pratt Hill III of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Meredith Hill of Charleston, South Carolina, to Benjamin Lofton Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Chapman Johnston Jr. of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Virginia "Ginny" Hill and the late Walker P. "Tiny" Hill Jr. of Statesboro and the late CMSGT-Ret. Thomas Victor Greene and Claire Hoffman Greene of Savannah. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Samuel Edwin Groover and Willie Olliff Groover Cobb of Statesboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walker P. Hill Sr. of Thomasville, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William S. Hoffman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Greene of Gaffney, S.C. Allison is a 1997 honor graduate of Statesboro High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Fashion. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Allison is a graphic designer with Studio R in Charleston, S.C.
    The groom elect is the grandson of Betty Carter Martin and the late Charles Lofton Martin Jr. of Milledgeville, Ga., and the late Donald Chapman Johnston and Ann Austin Johnston of Dublin, Ga. He is the great-grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Johnston of Sasser, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Arthur Austin of Atlanta, Ga., and the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles Lofton Martin of Madison, North Carolina, and Mr. and Mrs. John Rufus Carter of Eden, N.C. Ben is a 1997 graduate of Spartanburg High School. He graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina in 2001, then received his Master's in International Business Administration in 2005. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He is an associate with Apogee Partners, LLC in Charleston, S.C.
    The couple has planned to wed on November 13, 2010, at 4:30 in the afternoon at Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston, S.C.
