Mr. and Mrs. Jerry K. Hood of Statesboro, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Ann Hood, to William Benjamin Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Smith of Brunswick, Ga.

The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton G. Borowsky and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil C. Barrow. She is a graduate of Rescue Training Incorporated and a paramedic for Bulloch County Emergency Medical Services.

The future groom received his Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southern University in recreation and tourism management and is employed by the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James B. Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Reuben W. Rector.

A 6 p.m. May 14th wedding is planned at Mossy Oak Farm, with the reception to follow.
