Mr. and Mrs. John Edward Kimes of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Joanna Eileen of Statesboro, to Steven Joshua Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Steven Johnson of Roswell, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Leroy Garverick of Sunbury, Pa., and Mrs. June Hart of Waynesboro and Mr. William C. Kimes and the late Mrs. Joann Kimes of Miramar, Fla. Joanna is a 2002 graduate of Statesboro High School and is a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. She is employed as a teacher at Mattie Lively Elementary School.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Allgood and the late Mr. Luke Allgood and Mrs. Marguerite Johnson and the late Mr. Fred Johnson, all of Madison, Ga. He is a 2006 graduate of Pope High School and is a 2011 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, with a minor in Business. He is employed as a project manager with Brasfield and Gorrie General Contractor.
The couple has planned to wed on June 23, 2012, at 6 p.m. at The Belle House in Statesboro.
