Johnny "Boss" and Janice Lanier celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 11, 2014. The high school sweethearts were married at Friendship Baptist Church by Pastor Bob Helton on March 11, 1964. They celebrated their honeymoon in Cherokee, N.C. They have three children: Layna Lanier Mendlinger and her husband, Josh, of Alpharetta, Ga.; Joey Lanier of Twin City, Ga.; and Jana Lanier Dominy and her husband, David, of Metter, Ga. They have seven grandchildren: Lauren Brooke Lanier, Molly Ellis Manley, Ashton Elizabeth Lanier, Henry Jacob Manley, Noah Norman Mendlinger, John Hunter Lanier and Cooper Aiden Lanier Mendlinger.
