Mr. Rex Brown Childs of Statesboro and Ms. Lee Tillman Mitchell of Statesboro announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Stephanie Childs Sheppard of Statesboro, to W. Dennis Key of Swainsboro. The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff Denton Key II.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary Lee Tillman and the late Billy Gerome Tillman of Statesboro. She is also the granddaughter of Bettye Powell Childs and the late Burton Brown Childs of Statesboro. Ms. Childs is a graduate of Statesboro High School. She also attended Brenau and Georgia Southern University. Ms. Childs is currently employed as an assistant conference coordinator with the Continuing Education and Public Service Division at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Joyce Young of Swainsboro and the late Edgar Amos Evans of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff Denton Key of Swainsboro. Mr. Key is a graduate of Swainsboro High School and Valdosta State University, where he earned a Bachelor in Business Administration. He is currently employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. as the sales center manager in Statesboro.
The couple has planned to wed on May 8, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
