Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Spires of Milan, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Suzanne Marie Spires of Statesboro, Ga., to Jacob Ronald Hallman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hallman of Claxton, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. David Harper of Jesup, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Cravey of Milan, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lester J. Spires of Helena, Ga. Suzanne received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and Master’s degree in Business from Georgia Southern University. She is currently working as an advertising account executive for Northland Cable in Statesboro.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julian Hallman of Blackshear, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. William Cooper of Patterson, Ga. Jake received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition from Georgia Southern University. He worked at Morris Multimedia as the editor of Connect Statesboro for four years before becoming an independent professional musician, photographer and free-lance writer.
    The couple has planned to wed on May 29, 2010, at 5 p.m. at the Emma Kelly Theater in Statesboro.
