Mr. and Mrs. Derwood Tootle of Bellville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittany Lauren Tootle, to John Speer Brannen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Emery Brannen of Register.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Hendrix of Bellville and Mr. and Mrs. James D. Tootle of Glennville and the great-granddaughter of Mr. Hubert Hendrix of Bellville and Mr. Clyde Tootle of Glennville. Brittany is a 2003 honor graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy of Bellville and a 2008 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Marketing and her Master's degree in Higher Education. She is currently the assistant compliance director at GSU and the assistant to recruiting coaches for GSU Football.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kennedy and Mrs. Buford Brannen and the late John Ed Brannen, all of Register. Speer is a 2005 honor graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy and a magnum cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management. He is currently a partner of Double B Ranch and Poultry.
    The wedding will be held at Meldrim Woods Plantation on Mud Road in Brooklet on May 21 at 6 p.m.
