A fugitive wanted by North Carolina authorities fled into the woods near Brooklet on Wednesday morning, but Bulloch County sheriff’s deputies and K9 Officer Dutch captured him after a mile-long trek through the swamp. Bulloch County Sheriff Noel Brown said his office received information from a North Carolina pardons and paroles officer that Dillon Clinton Collins, 26, of Sandy Creek Road, could be found at a residence on Brooklet-Denmark Road. Collins was wanted on several felony charges including breaking and entering and absconding from custody, he said.
