Statesboro police arrested a Brooklet woman Friday who is accused of stealing money from an elderly victim. Amber Irene Benton, 25, of Pless Clifton Road in Brooklet, was reportedly responsible for running errands for the 85-year-old Bethany Way victim but was "skimming money," said Statesboro police information specialist Madison Bridges. Benton would reportedly take money from the victim to make requested purchases but would keep some of the money for herself, Bridges said.
