Statesboro resident and Georgia Southern graduate Phil King was appointed manager of production engineering for aircraft systems, Gulfstream.
In this newly created position, King is responsible for system engineering support of manufacturing operations for the Gulfstream G550, G500, G450 and G350 business-jet aircraft models.
Most recently, King was the Design Build Team (DBT) lead for sustaining mechanical systems engineering. A 23-year Gulfstream employee, King was a design engineer on the Gulfstream IV (GIV) development team. He also has supported production and new product development as a designer and mechanical systems Designated Engineering Representative (DER). Prior to Gulfstream, King designed aircraft refueling valves for Brooks Instruments.
King earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in technology, both from Georgia Southern University. He served for two years in the U.S. Air Force as a nuclear weapons specialist.
