Statesboro Police Incidents
HOLLY DRIVE — A woman said someone struck two mailboxes.
HONEST JOHN'S/EAST PARRISH STREET — A man said someone cut the phone and cable wires and shattered a window.
STATESBORO PLACE APARTMENTS — A man said someone took several electronics items from a vehicle.
PINE STREET — A woman said a man took a butcher knife from her home because some people were "looking for him and he wanted to have something for them."
VARSITY LODGE APARTMENTS — A woman reported someone took a pair of gold reading glasses from her table.
LAKELAND DRIVE — A man reported a laptop computer stolen from his home.
SOUTH MULBERRY STREET — A complainant said her juvenile ex-boyfriend slapped her, pointed a gun at her and knocked the phone from her hand when she tried calling police.
PROCTOR STREET — A woman and man fought over a cell phone, and she received scratches during the scuffle.
Bulloch Sheriff's Incidents
DAPHNEY LANE — (Register) A woman said two of her grandchildren were arguing in her home, fighting over a pillow.
OLD RIVER ROAD NORTH — (Clito) A woman told deputies someone is using her identity to open three cell phone accounts, and tried to get credit cards but were turned down. One cell phone company provided a Millen address and phone number for the person using her information.
INTERSTATE 16 — (Statesboro) A man parked diagonally watching fires that had been set along the interstate appeared suspicious. Deputies could not link the fires to the man but did arrest him for open container and DUI. (He refused a test but had slurred speech, glazed eyes and a strong odor of alcohol, reports stated.)
GROOVER OLD MILL ROAD — (Nevils) A woman said the mentally challenged son of a man with whom she has lived for three years walked away from the house so she went to pick him up. Upon her return, the boy's father began yelling at her and said for her to leave his home. He grabbed her head and began punching her, giving her a black eye. When she said she was calling the law he snatched her phone and followed her as she fled, beating her. The son struck the man with a drum foot pedal to make him leave her alone.
PINE BLUFF ROAD — (Statesboro) A woman said someone keeps calling her from a blocked number and says her name "in a creepy manner."
ACORN LANE — (Statesboro) A man said a cell phone service salesman sold him items he did not want and pocketed the $20, then did not give him his minutes he wanted. The salesman told the deputies the complainant got what he paid for.
BURKHALTER ROAD — (Statesboro) A man said his landlord came into his residence while he was sleeping and asked for rent that he had failed to pay. He said she also called his mother and said the apartment had caught fire.
U.S. 80 WEST — A man told deputies he was watching a movie with a man who "was known for stealing" and later discovered a DVD player he left in his mother's car was missing.
Georgia State Patrol Incidents
SUNDAY — Troopers issued 32 warnings, assisted seven motorists and investigated one crash with no reported injuries.
MONDAY — Troopers investigated four crashes with two reported injuries.
