The Maxx band
The Maxx band will be featured at the next Downtown Live concert, set for Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 7 p.m. on the East Main Street stage.

While rain forced the Swingin' Medallions inside the Averitt Center for their June 27 show, The Maxx band will be back outside on Thursday for the sixth event of the 2024 Downtown Live concert series.

The Maxx comes to Statesboro on July 11. The six-member group performs classic oldies along with hot songs from today's pop music. The group plays 125 shows per year, and they tailor their set lists and choreography to every performance.

The seventh show of the series is set for Aug. 8 when The Fantasy Band takes the stage. Known as "The Carolina's Most Entertaining Party Band," the group will perform a variety of beach music, Motown, funk, soul and smooth R&B. They have played together for more than 20 years.

Downtown Live will close out the 2024 season on Sept. 12 with local country artist,Cole Goodwin. Voted Savannah's Best Country Artist in 2023, Goodwin has become a well-known artist in the low country.

Admission is free to all shows, and food trucks and beverage vendors will open at 5 p.m., with each show beginning at 7 p.m.
