A former Catholic priest in Ohio who worked in Claxton, Pembroke and Glennville as recently as 2012 was sentenced Wednesday to 7½ years in prison for taking a 10-year-old boy across state lines for sexual purposes. The Rev. Robert Poandl, 72, was sentenced by a federal judge in Cincinnati, nearly five months after a jury found him guilty of one count of transporting a minor across state lines with intent to engage in sexual activity, according to a Wednesday news release by the FBI Cincinnati Division. Poandl was taken into custody immediately after the hearing to begin serving his sentence.
