With gleeful animation, Georgia's first lady Sandra Deal made characters come alive as she read a book to children at a local child care facility Tuesday. The governor's wife was in town as part of the Read Across Georgia initiative, which supports Gov. Nathan Deal's "goal of increasing the percentage of children reading at grade level by completion of the third grade," according to the Office of the Governor's website at www.gov.georgia.gov.
