Georgia Southern University President Dr. Bruce Grube kicked off the annual watermelon cutting Tuesday.
The tradition started back in 1948 with Zach Henderson, GSU president at the time, and has continued with each president since. This will be the ninth cutting that Grube has participated in.
The cutting was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month of July.
