My compliments on the new format of page 2 of the Herald. It makes the paper more interesting from a daily and weekly viewpoint.
Mr. Roger Allen’s columns on the history of Statesboro and Bulloch County are informative and enjoyable. In a recent article about the first automobile in Statesboro, there is an error. The first car driven into town under its own power was steered by Mr. Percy (not Perry) Averitt. As correctly stated, Mr. Averitt later established the first automobile agency in the city.
