Editor:
As chairman of the Statesboro Service League’s 2006 Attic Sale, I would like to thank all of you for helping to make our sale this year a huge success. The media coverage that we received was excellent. Randy Morton, Luke Martin and Susan Samford from the Herald; Dal Cannady from WTOC-TV provided great advertisements, articles and interviews. Neal Sapp of Sapp Outdoor Advertising donated a billboard and Sonic owner, Russell Rosengart, donated the advertising for the billboard. Randy Childs of Ranco donated many tables for our use. Fred Hill at Wal-Mart Distribution Center donated two televisions for our customer’s raffle. A big thank you to Mary Screws at Maraco Press for doing all the printing for 2006 Attic Sale. Thank you to all our local radio stations for coverage for the sale day, and thank you to Angle Gibson at Northland Cable.
Many businesses in Statesboro donated items for our auction, before the sale, that raised over $4,000. Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Georgia Southern University helped us on sale day, lifting many heavy items, and the Statesboro Police Department provided the finest security and support.
The members of the Statesboro Service League, along with its sustainers, volunteered their time and resources. The generosity and commitment of the League members, along with the entire city of Statesboro, far exceeded anything in which I have ever been involved.
Finally, to the people of Statesboro and surrounding counties who came to our sale shopping for the items that we had available, certainly helped us in exceeding our financial goals. Every penny we made will go straight back into the Statesboro community and Bulloch County over the next year to support many organizations such as Boys and Girls Club, Joseph’s Home for Boys, Gateway Girls, Safe Haven, Foster Kids, GSU Museum and The Averitt Arts Center. I am so excited about the final turn out of this sale. Thank you again for all your support and helping make a difference in so many ways. Bulloch County is a great place to live.
