Statesboro police are investigating an attack Saturday afternoon that sent the victim to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The 59-year-old man did not know his attacker, said Madison Warren, Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist. However, the unidentified assailant reportedly attacked the man, striking him “several times with a weapon,” because the offender suspected the victim of “messing with his girlfriend,” she said.
