A man pistol-whipped another Saturday night during an argument over a woman, fled but later turned himself in to authorities, police said. Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said Rodney Lamond Dixon, 42, of Harvest Drive in Springfield, was not at the scene Saturday when deputies arrived at the Trevor Lane residence around 11:45 p.m. Deputies did find a 35-year-old man who needed medical attention after being beaten with a pistol, he said. The victim was “treated by (Bulloch County) EMS for non life-threatening injuries” at the scene, Anderson said.
