A man was shot early Friday morning, but the wound is not considered life-threatening, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

Patrol Division deputies responded at 2:58 a.m. to a home in the 200 block of Frink Road and found a 46-year-old man, who lives in the home, with a gunshot wound in the leg, the sheriff's office said.

The man was taken by Bulloch County EMS to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where he was in stable condition, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release.

The man told deputies that he was shot after "being confronted by a group of black males who attempted to rob him," the sheriff said.

Processing of the scene and neighborhood canvassing continued into the daylight hours.

At this point the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Investigator John Quattlebaum at (912) 764-1785 or submit an anonymous tip to tips@bullochsheriff.com.
