United States marshals and Candler County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Friday who was wanted in the November 2017 murder of a Metter victim. Akeem Ajima Lanier, 29, was arrested without incident at a residence on North Leroy Street in Metter, said Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent-in-Charge Bill Bodrey. Warrants against Lanier were taken out Nov. 13 on charges of murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
