Mylissa Gregory, a staff hospitalist at Optim Medical Center-Screven, was given Ogeechee Technical College’s 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award. The honor was presented during the 2nd annual "We Are OTC" event, held April 3 at The Market at Visit Statesboro.

Outstanding Alumni Awards recognize Ogeechee Tech graduates who “exemplify success and serve as role models in their respective fields.”

Lagina Evans, CEO of Optim Medical Center-Screven, expressed the hospital’s pride in Gregory’s achievement.

"We are so proud to have this exceptional provider working with our team. It is a great honor to have Mylissa taking care of our community,” she said. “Her dedication to patient care and commitment to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals reflects the values we hold dear at Optim Medical Center-Screven."

Gregory, a 2011 graduate of OTC’s Radiologic Technology Program, holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and is a licensed and registered physician assistant in Georgia. Additionally, she has earned multiple certifications from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

During the ceremony, Gregory spoke about how her experience at OTC helped shape her career.

"I knew from my very first conversation with Matt Dunn that OTC was for me," Gregory said. "He helped me navigate a busy schedule so that I could pursue my dreams in healthcare."

In addition to her clinical expertise, Gregory said she is committed to mentoring and supporting students in the Radiology and Physician Assistant programs. She said she shares her knowledge and experience, hoping to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Also, Gregory and her husband have pledged to fund two scholarships at OTC to support students in their healthcare journeys.

The Distinguished Alumni Award honors individuals who graduated from Ogeechee Tech in 2015 or earlier, achieving success and making a significant impact in their field on a local, regional or state level.
