A man is in custody in connection to a shooting Saturday night at Club 46 in Metter, and investigations are ongoing regarding that shooting as well as another incident in the area. Metter Police officers responded to the club, at the intersection of Ga. 46 and Metter-Portal Highway, around 12:15 a.m. after reports that a man had been shot, said Metter Police Chief Dennis Nelson.Officers found a 27-year-old man, whose identity they have not yet revealed, with a gunshot wound to his back, he said. The victim was first transported to the Candler County Hospital and later flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, ”where he was admitted and reported in stable condition,” he said.
