Dr. Dawn Cartee, president of Ogeechee Technical College, recently announced the appointment of two vice presidents.
Beth P. Mathews was named vice president for Institutional Advancement, and Eyvonne C. Hart was named vice president for Administration.
Associated with Ogeechee Tech for many years, Hart formerly taught accounting at the college. Also, prior to a stint as the acting executive director of Administration, she was the registrar at OTC.  With a history in governmental accounting, Hart has a experience in monitoring and administering fiscal operations within a governmental organization.
“Eyvonne is uniquely qualified to manage our fiscal affairs at Ogeechee Tech,” Cartee said. “She has a distinct ability to protect the financial interests of our College and the taxpayers of Georgia.”
“I am honored to receive the vote of confidence from our administration that this appointment represents,” Hart said. “I pledge my best efforts in continuing to operate this college in a fiscally sound manner.”
Mathews joined Ogeechee Tech in early 2007 as executive director for Institutional Advancement after several years coordinating fundraising at Georgia Southern University. Mathews’ responsibilities at Ogeechee Tech include managing the College’s annual fundraising campaign iGot (I gave to Ogeechee Tech), and generation and distribution of scholarships for OTC students.
“Beth has the background and experience to maximize our fundraising efforts here at Ogeechee Tech,” Cartee said. “She is very mindful of utilizing as many of our donated dollars for direct benefit to students as possible. She is an excellent steward of the Foundation’s funds.”
“Providing support for students and making their goal of an education financially attainable is a primary focus, and I am excited to be in the position to help make that happen,” Mathews said. “Ogeechee Tech is such an important part of the fabric of the local communities we serve, and allowing those in our service area to give back through our Foundation is an important aspect of what we do.”
“Eyvonne and Beth are valuable members of our team at Ogeechee Tech, and we are fortunate to have them here,” Cartee said.

Local and area artists showed off their wares and their talents last week during the spring All Fired Up! Exhibition and Sale at the Roxie Remley Center for Fine Arts on Vine Street. Ceramics, jewelry, paintings and other fine art were on display and for sale during the three-day event. The biannual sale supports local artists and helps continue the art programs, classes and workshops at the Averitt Center.
