Statesboro Police are seeking clues regarding a burglary that was discovered Monday at the Bulloch County Annex.
Sometime between Friday afternoon and Monday morning, someone broke into the building through a window on the south side, near a drive- through lane, according to police reports.
The offenders damaged two vending machines in the lobby, taking an undisclosed amount of money, then pried a door open leading to the Bulloch County Tax Office, according to reports by Det. T. Brown, who responded to the scene Monday to investigate the break-in.
The offender rifled through some desks and paperwork, but nothing was discovered t have been stolen, said Statesboro Police Capt. Scott Brunson.
However, the suspects apparently tried to enter the vault, damaging a wall and ceiling, he said. They did not breach the vault.
Brunson said investigators have not determined whether the break-in could be related to two separate burglaries which occurred a couple months ago at the Bulloch County Courthouse.
Anyone with information regarding the burglary is asked to contact Brown at 7764-1542 or 212-2304. All calls will remain confidential, Brunson said.
