Statesboro police reported that a 32-year-old woman died Saturday evening after drowning in a pool on Greenbriar Trail.
Police identified the woman as Mollye Nancy Eason of Statesboro, but said they are still waiting on autopsy results to determine whether or not any other factors came into play in her death. According to sources, Eason went out for a run Saturday before entering the pool.
Eason was a Bulloch County native, valedictorian of the Pinewood Christian Academy class of 1995 and graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and employed by the Burns World Travel Agency.
The drowning is under investigation by Statesboro Police Detective Terry Briley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church and the funeral service will be held at the church Thursday at 11 a.m. For complete obituary, see page 5.
