Reward offered in burglary

While Bulloch County sheriff's investigators are pursuing leads on a rash of burglaries, one victim is offering a $1,500 reward.Capt. Todd Hutchens said there were several residential burglaries in August in the Emit and Denmark areas. One man is offering the reward for "the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible as well as recovery of the stolen items," Hutchens said.The victim offering the reward reported electronics and firearms stolen that were valued at several thousands of dollars. There also were other burglaries in the areas, and "the sheriff's office is soliciting the public's help," Hutchens said.Anyone with information is asked to contact sheriff's Investigator Dusty Williams or Investigator Jason Long at (912)764-8888.

Bulloch County Schools' Teacher of the Year, art teacher Heather Gonzales, hosted a "Night at the Art Museum" Saturday, May 3, at Southeast Bulloch Middle School to showcase the school's fine arts students and faculty. Sponsored by the Brooklet Kiwanis Club, the inaugural event featured a gallery of visual artwork by students, live performances by SEB Middle's symphonic band and chorus, fine arts awards, plus food and refreshments.
