Bulloch County Public Safety Director Ted Wynn warns citizens that weather could get rather rough Wednesday.
The National Weather Service predicts potential for “a severe weather event” Wednesday afternoon and into the night across southeast Georgia and South Carolina.
A strong area of low pressure developing in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday is expected to track northeast Wednesday and Wednesday night.
As the storm system lifts northward, a warm front will push through southern
South Carolina and southeast Georgia Wednesday, with a strong cold front then approaching from the west by late Wednesday afternoon and night, he said.
Potential severe weather hazards from the system include tornadoes, straight line wind damage, and possibly severe hail, he said.
“We will continue to monitor the situation closely as the event approaches,” Wynn said. If necessary, public safety officials and emergency responders will meet Tuesday to discuss the weather possibilities.
