Police say the two Fort Stewart soldiers found dead in a Rebecca Street townhome Sunday were shot to death, and investigators are treating it as a double homicide. An autopsy Tuesday at the GBI crime lab in Savannah determined the two men died of gunshot wounds, according to Hinesville Police Department Chief Detective Capt. Chris Reid, who said that shows a third person was in the residence. Reid, who also said there were no signs of a struggle, would not say how many times the victims were shot.
