ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Carolyn Dian Johnston was born on August 8, 1950, in Alma, Arkansas, to Carreni Fay and Burl Ray Peevy. She passed away on February 21, 2025, in St. Joseph Hospital in St Charles, Missouri, at the age of 74 years old.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Johnston; her son, Brian Lang; her sisters, Velta LeBlanc, Mary Lou Reavis, Clara Peevy; and one brother, Paul Peevy. She was also preceded in death by both parents.
She leaves behind to mourn her passing: daughter, Tonya Summers, and her husband, Cale; a daughter-in-law, Angie Lang; a sister, Janet Peevy; a sister, Kathie Pitzer, and her husband, John; and a brother, Dean Peevy, and his wife, Stacey. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
Carolyn spent her younger years in Texas. During that time, she worked as a waitress until she met and married Ray Johnston in 1974.
After moving to Missouri, she owned and ran two small businesses.
In her 50s, she went to school to become both a realtor and a real estate broker.
Later in life, she lived in both Arkansas and Georgia, then lastly in St. Charles, Mo., with her daughter.
The family invited all friends and loved ones to join in celebrating Carolyn's life on February 26, 2025. The 1 p.m. viewing was followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould, Arkansas. A short graveside ceremony followed the funeral service at Clark's Chapel Cemetery in Paragould, Ark.
