MILLEN, Ga. -- Mrs. Margarite Cathryn Ellis Glasford, age 68, died on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
The native of Statesboro was a 1974 graduate of Portal High School.
Cathryn was the owner of Southern Thangs and co-owner of Glasford Trucking.
She moved to Jenkins County in 1995.
She enjoyed crafting and was also a wedding planner.
Cathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Ben “Jimbo” Ellis and Betty McGlamery Ellis; a sister, Joan Marie Autry; and a brother, Ralph Michael Ellis.
Surviving is a husband of 19 years, Lloyd Glasford of Millen, Ga.; a son, Ben Jeremy Schofield of Brooklet; two grandsons, Eric Glasford and Shane Glasford of Peoria, Ill.; two brothers, Wesley (Vickie) Ellis and Chuck Ellis, all of Hopeulikit; a sister-in-law, Alethia Ellis of Statesboro; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Autry of Hopeulikit; her special friends, Margaret Tankersley and Danny Jones. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Thomas Hendrix officiating.
