Portal's Fred Williams has been on a tear all week.
The senior forward poured in a game-high 27 points over rival Screven County on Tuesday night, including a thunderous one-handed jam to exhilarate the home crowd.
Williams is averaging 20.5 points a game to be a big factor in the Panther's 7-0 start. He's also pulling down five rebounds per contest and hitting 77 percent of his free throws.
"Fred's a four-year starter that's been a scorer ever since his freshman year," said PHS head coach Jeff Brannen. "He bring a scorer's mentality to the team. He can spot up and shoot the 3, he can drive to the basket and he can rebound."
In three wins over Screven, Bryan County (Dec. 8) and Claxton (Dec 9), Williams scored 27, 23 and 20 respectively.
