Delvin Diggs, a senior at Claxton High School's signed a national letter of intent to attend the Naval Academy and play football for former Georgia Southern head coach Paul Johnson on Wednesday. Diggs, a senior, rushed for 1582 yards on 273 carries this past season for the Tigers.
"The Navy is one of the top schools as far as academics," said Diggs. "That's real important to me. I think in the long run it'll be a big payoff for me."
Diggs will spend a year at the Naval Academy Prep School in Rhode Island before heading on to Annapolis, Md.
