Six home games including dates with Savannah State, The Citadel and Furman highlight the 2013 Georgia Southern Football schedule released by Director of Athletics Sam Baker on Friday. The season opens at home with Savannah State on August 31st, and conference play begins two weeks later at Wofford.
The Eagles host their SoCon home opener against Chattanooga after a bye week and will round out the conference home slate with The Citadel, Furman and Western Carolina at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. After their second bye week, GSU faces Appalachian State in Boone, N.C., on October 26th.
Following the contest with the Mountaineers, the Eagles return home for two games before closing out the season on the road at Elon and Florida. Georgia Southern hosts rival Furman on November 2nd and Western Carolina on November 9th.
The Eagles will also play Saint Francis (PA) out of the NEC on September 7th to round out the non-conference slate and travel to Samford on October 5th. The NCAA allows for 12 games to be played in 2013 and an additional game could be added at a later date.
