Georgia Southern football player Kentrellis Marquis Showers, and a woman, Jomeshia Jquana Slaughter, were arrested at their Cambridge Pines apartment early Saturday morning after Statesboro police responded to a call about a verbal altercation that turned physical, according to an incident report. Slaughter, 22, was charged with battery and Showers, 23, was charged with simple battery. Both charges are misdemeanors.
