BATON ROUGE, La. — Bulloch County native Wendel Akins birdied the last four holes of the 36-hole Baton Rouge Open golf tournament on Sunday to finish 10-under in the event for the win, the New Orleans Advocate reported. Akins edged Brandt Garon, the 2013 champion at the tournament, by two strokes. Garon’s 67 was the low round of the day.
