The Statesboro Lady Blue Devils opened their 2014 campaign with a high-scoring shootout, splitting a doubleheader with visiting North Cobb Christian on Saturday at Mill Creek. The Blue Devils (1-1) had trouble finding the strike zone in the first game and lost 21-2, but turned the tables in the second game with a 22-10 victory. Cassidy Stephens (1-0) got the win for SHS, while Alexis Costlow, Kalli Harsha and Brenaye Taylor led the way at the plate.
