Southeast Bulloch’s baseball team found a way to get by Islands 4-3 on the road to remain unbeaten in region play.
Tyler Thorton pitched six innings for the Yellow Jackets to give up just three hits and registering four strikeouts. Cole Mincey picked up the save in the seventh inning.
Bryce Harnage had a solo homerun while Tyler DeLoach chipped in an RBI double.
SEB (5-2, 3-0) comes back home to face South Effingham at 5:30 pm. on Wednesday.

SE Bulloch’s girls soccer team drew South Effingham 1-1 thanks to a timely goal by West Georgia commit Cole Robertson.
In the 60th minute Emily Barnard found Robertson off a throw-in that bounced one and allowed the senior to stike it in off the volley. The score tied the game 1-1 after South Effingham drew first blood in the 39th minute.
Makayla James finished with 12 saves, including two crucial stops to keep SEB alive in the first half.
SEB (4-4-1) will be back in action Monday when they host Windsor Forest at 5:00 p.m.
Southeast Bulloch boys soccer shutout by South Effingham
The SEB boys were beat 3-0 by South Effingham in a non-region affair Friday night in Brooklet.
Despite eight quality shots on goal by Andrew Kalani, Danny Healy, Kyle Edwards and Andrew Cribbs -- South Effingham was simply the better team Friday night.
SEB (2-4-2) will be back at home Monday when they host Windsor Forest at 7:00 p.m.

soccer drubs New Hampstead
The Lady Blue Devils improved their region record to 2-0 Friday night when they beat down New Hampstead 5-1 in Savannah.
Smith Kaiser led the way with a hat trick, setting a new season high for goals scored in a game for Statesboro. Isabel Gutierrez and Nora Wiggins would each chip in a goal to complete the five spot.
Statesboro (7-2, 2-0) will continue region play Tuesday when they travel to Ware County for a first kick set for 5:00 p.m.
Montgomery County upends Portal boys soccer
The Portal Panthers remain winless in their inaugural season of GHSA sanctioned boys soccer after a 9-1 defeat to Montgomery County Friday night.
Aaron Sanches scored the lone goal for Portal in the loss. It’s the first goal the Panthers have scored since their 5-3 opening defeat to Swainsboro.
Portal (0-3-0) will travel to Claxton in their next match on Tuesday with first kick set for 7:00 p.m.
Portal baseball run-ruled by Savannah Christian
After a slump-busting win against Liberty County Thursday night, Portal regressed back to the mean in a 15-0 loss to Savannah Christian Friday night.
In spite of Tyler Hagan’s night on the mound, too many errors by Portal ultimately doomed Portal to the frontrunners of region 3-A.
Hagan and Fischer Oglesby picked up the only hits of the night for the Panthers.
Portal (2-7) will come back home Tuesday to face Wheeler County at 5:30 p.m.
Southeast Bulloch announces 22nd Annual Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet
SEB will hold their annual HOF banquet in the school cafeteria April 22nd at 7:00 p.m. Limited tickets will be sold for $10.00. Tickets can be purchased at either Southeast Bulloch High or Southeast Bulloch Middle school’s front offices. April 19th will be last day to purchase tickets for the banquet.

Magic Show
tournament to be held this weekend
The 4th Annual Magic Show presented by the Statesboro Magic will take place this weekend at Georgia Southern's RAC facility.
Today and Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. — 55 teams from grades 4-12, with teams from as far Fayetteville, NC will compete in a tournament. These games feature local players with area middle and high school programs.
The host team, the Statesboro Magic, is made up of 9th grade boys from SHS, SEB, and South Effingham. The cost of admission is $10.
