Statesboro has never been shy about producing greatness in the athletic field and the best of the best are recognized every three years at the induction of new members into the Statesboro Athletic Hall of Fame.
The prestigious club recognizes past performers from Statesboro High, the William James High School and the Marvin Pittman School.
The nomination process for this year's class is now open and will be accepting applications until Sept. 15. The criteria for nominating a potential inductee are that the person is a graduate of one of the three institutions and that they have been graduated for at least 15 years.
Nomination forms can be downloaded off of the Statesboro High website. Completed forms may be directed to Kathy Tucker, P.O. Box 2204, Statesboro, GA 30459. Forms can also be emailed to kathybtucker@gmail.com.
Inductions for this year's class will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, ahead of the following day's 'Senior Night' contest against South Effingham.
